Moth in Lilac
I found this moth resting in our lilac tree on a cool, overcast morning. It was deep inside a few bracts of flowers so to get the flowers and moth in focus I manually took thirty-seven shots shifting to focus ever so slightly from front to back and then aligned and blended them in Adobe Photoshop. It took some time but I think the effort was worth it.

This is a representation of what I hung in the Lakes Region Art Gallery. My last minute decision to produce this framed piece did not allow me time to photograph it before heading into the gallery on Saturday. The image is printed on Epson Luster photographic paper, archivally mounted on foam core with a hand cut avocado matte and enclosed in a black, gallery style frame with dust cover and hanging wire.
