Atlantic Morning

There must be an unwritten rule somewhere that requires the most interesting sunrises to come with the coldest mornings.  I can almost feel the ache in my fingertips each time I view this image.  It was so cold that when I got back to my truck and took the camera off the tripod, the camera slipped out of my hands and hit the pavement.  Thankfully it landed on the corner of the metal arca adapter mounted to the camera and no damage was done.

I had hoped to get a nice sunrise from Wallace Sands Beach on the New Hampshire coast.  After waiting for a good thirty minutes for any color to appear I packed up and headed north.  Within a mile of my original location I noticed pastel colors on the clouds and fog layer out past the Isle of Shoals.  I quickly pulled over, found this composition along the rocky sea wall and took several shots. I would have loved to have a bird fly through the scene, but it was so cold they were not budging.
