Saturday Morning’s Sunrise

Sometimes it is worth getting out of bed before it’s light out. I found it particularly difficult on this cold morning, but I knew the clouds would be offering some color, so I pushed through it, wiped the sleep from my eyes, dressed and went to the kitchen for a coffee. With gear loaded in the truck, I set out for a close destination, one that I knew would offer a nice view if the skies lit up. It was exactly 1°F as I stood in the snow waiting for the light. I didn’t have to wait long. It was just about what I had expected except for the tinting on the snow. That, as they say, was the icing on the cake.
